Tsutsumu (the art of Japanese packaging). Traditional craft is a precious documentation of how our living culture has developed. The traditional Japanese art of packaging is another form of the Japanese cultural heritage. People used natural materials like bamboo, wood or clay, to protect or contain food and other objects. These natural materials could keep their content fresh and purified. These packaging techniques could also be seen as a reflection of Japanese psychology, which often comments on the concepts of orderliness and tidiness. This collection aims to recreate some forms of bamboo containers with metal support.
