Maden, was founded in 2011 by Burcu Büyükünal and Selen Özus. It is a contemporary jewelry studio that considers jewelry as “wearable art” and intends to convey this concept to its participants through technical and conceptual courses. It also aims at contributing to the advancing field of contemporary jewelry in Turkey. Maden defends creative and critical thinking and believes not only in the value of ideas but also in the inherent values of materials. For this reason, it encourages participants to work with any material within the range of precious and nonprecious, which is suitable for conveying ideas and feelings through jewelry.
