WUNDERVENUS jewelry identifies wonder as a mytho-poetic viewpoint and beauty as harmonising power. The collection The Cabinet of Curiosities refers to the first scientific and art collections – wunderkammer – set up during Renaissance and Baroque by European noblemen and scientists preserving rare phenomena of nature, precious artworks, objects from unexplored worlds and inexplicable items. During that period science was holistic, and the scientist was more of an alchemist with universal curiosity towards multiple disciplines, like medicine, astrology, mathematics. The artist revives the wunderkammer tradition and creates the cabinet of phantasmagorical specimens, curiosities and mirabilia that could have developed differently if evolution had taken another path.
