HEALING

After suffering the effects of a great family loss, I decided to start making jewelry to heal myself. My persistence in giving life back to lifeless materials is still haunting me. Initially, I colored my pieces black. Gradually, though, as layers of color were added to them on purpose, the darkness disappeared. My materials, resin, and metal were a symbolic choice. Resin is a synthetic, chemical material while metal is a natural one.
Color, lines, and fragments of the original starting piece were used to give movement and different energy to the pieces, give them life. Not a life as it is in reality, but as it had to be.
