Calligraphic Structure No. 2
Brooch
Graphite, pink silk, brass, steel wire
6,5 cm diameter
I see calligraphy as a state of expression of the material world.
The written language was the first means that helped us relate to the surrounding world: premeditated, deliberate, an invention and somewhat of an artificial construct. I think jewelry should prompt us to form new types of relation to communication. Thus, I propose wearable pieces made as deliberate constructs. The tools of this calligraphy are: the manipulations of cuts and seams, the fragility of graphite, and the use of silk in an attempt to find the flow lines that identify the new sign.
